What is LipoJection™?
LipoJection™ is a non-surgical procedure of injecting a proprietary blend of medications directly into pockets of fat to cause the fat cells to lysis (“dissolve”). It is an alternative to liposuction for treating problem areas of fat that won’t go away with diet and exercise.

What medications are used in LipoJection™?
The main ingredient is Phosphatidylcholine (“PPC”), which is actually what causes the fat cell to dissolve. Vitamin B complex (various “B” vitamins) is added to help support the liver’s breakdown process of the fat particles. These two ingredients are homeopathic ingredients. The only prescription medication used in LipoJection™ is something called Trental, which is FDA approved for poor circulation and is used “off-label” in LipoJection™ to help the fat cells lysis quicker. These ingredients are all mixed with saline.

How does LipoJection™ work?
The medications used in the LipoJection™ causes lysis (“dissolving”) of the fat cell wall. This allows the fat particles that is being stored in the cell to get released, and is taken by the lymphatic system to the liver where it is metabolized and excreted out in the urine. The dead fat cells are then cleared by the body.

How is LipoJection™ different from Lipodissolve and Mesotherapy?
LipoJection™ differs from Lipodissolve and Mesotherapy in how deep the injections are placed, how much of the solution is injected, and the intervals between treatments. In Mesotherapy, the medications are put into the skin in small amounts and in Lipodissolve, the medications are put deeper into the fat pockets, but only in smaller amounts. The main difference between all three procedures is that with LipoJection™, results are more certain with each treatment and fewer treatments are needed than with Lipodissolve and Mesotherapy.

Who cannot have LipoJection™?
Patients who are pregnant or breast-feeding, who have cancer or has had chemo or radiation within 6 months, who have AIDS, who are allergic to eggs or soy, who have poorly controlled diabetics, who have poorly controlled hypertension, or who are on blood-thinners are not candidates for LipoJection™. During the consultation, other patients may be cautioned on delayed healing as result of other medical conditions or being on certain medications.

What type of results is expected from LipoJection™?
LipoJection™ averages about 1 inch of fat loss per treatment. This average takes in to account patients that lose 2 inches, but also patients that lose ¼ or ½ inch with the treatment. This variability is due to individual responses to the medications as well as the type of fat that is being treated. Soft fat works very well with LipoJection™. Fibrous fat is more difficult to treat with LipoJection™.

Is LipoJection™ safe?
Injection lipolysis procedures using PPC have been available and safely performed in Europe since 2002 and over 18000 procedures have been done worldwide. The main ingredient used to cause the fat cells to burst is actually not a synthetic medication, but rather a natural homeopathic ingredient, which has been used intravenously in Europe over 30 years to treat plaques in blood vessels with extensive research showing safety. In LipoJection™, this same medication is used subcutaneously for fat reduction.

Does LipoJection™ hurt?
A machine is used that blows cold air on the skin to numb the area. LipoJection™ is done with very small needles and most people are able to tolerate the procedure without any difficulty. After LipoJection™ treatment, there is soreness in the treated area for a few days addressed with Tylenol if necessary.

What are the side effects of LipoJection™?
The main side effects are bruising, swelling, and soreness, which peak at about 48 hours and then resolves by 10-14 days. LipoJection™ is a “no downtime” procedure.

How many LipoJection™ treatments will it take?
Generally, the average patient requires 1-3 treatments in a given body area with the goal of losing AT LEAST 1 inch of fat with each treatment. However this will depend on the individual client and the amount of fat to be treated. Treatments are done every 8 weeks apart in the same area, or every 2 weeks in different areas.

How much of an area can be done in a LipoJection™ session?
In LipoJection™, 100cc of the medications is the safe dose that a patient can get at any one time. A rough estimate of the area that can be covered with 100cc is about the area of TWO medium size hands with fingers spread out.

How soon will I see results from LipoJection™?
Results vary depending on your body type and the condition being treated. On average, clients start noticing visible improvement from any particular treatment session about 4-7 weeks after that treatment. However, in some patients, it is not unusual to see the end result 12 weeks after the treatment.

Does LipoJection™ work for everyone?
Although LipoJection™ works for everyone in that there is fat loss, how good it works for any particular individual depends on how well the medications used in LipoJection™ works on that person. It’s not a question of whether LipoJection™ will work, but rather how many treatments it will take to attain goal fat reduction. LipoJection™ is a treatment for spot fat loss and not a treatment for weight loss, or obesity.

What do I need to do after the LipoJection™ treatment?
Specific instructions will be given to clients after the consultation, but an exercise program is essential for optimal results. In addition proper nutrition is necessary to maintain the results.

How long do the results last?
The results from LipoJection™ will last permanently in the area treated. When fat cells are “dissolved”, they will no longer be in that area. However, new fat cells can be generated in the area treated and in other areas if a client adopts unhealthy lifestyle habits, such as poor eating and lack of exercise.

How is LipoJection™ different from surgical procedures such as liposuction?
LipoJection™ is a non-surgical procedure and so involves no risk from general anesthesia and no risk of surgical complications. LipoJection™ requires no recovery time and you can continue your daily activities without taking any time off.
